A Journey from the Farm to the Boardroom

How creativity, resilience, and purpose shaped JoyceVentures.

Early Roots & Inspiration

I grew up on a farm surrounded by open fields and dirt roads. My companions were dogs, horses, and baby calves. As a child with undiagnosed dyslexia, I struggled with traditional learning methods. But those early challenges sparked a creativity in me that would shape my entire life’s journey.

My father, George White, was my first and most influential mentor. He encouraged me to explore the world around me and study great thinkers. His guidance instilled in me a curiosity and love for learning that went beyond textbooks and classrooms.

Despite my academic struggles, I found my way to a degree in Art Education. It was my first experience creating my own path when conventional routes seemed closed. Little did I know then how this skill would serve me later in life.

Resilience & Growth

Life took an unexpected turn when I became a single parent to three children while working full-time and pursuing my master’s degree in Organizational Leadership. Those years were a whirlwind of responsibility and determination. Every day was a balancing act — but step by step, I emerged stronger, wiser, and more resilient.

As I transitioned from my role in transforming reactive educational systems into proactive, positively reinforced systems, I witnessed real, measurable impact — higher graduation rates and fewer suspensions and expulsions. That experience helped me recognize that my true purpose was to empower people and organizations to thrive through positive, values-based systems.

Founding JoyceVentures

I founded JoyceVentures, LLC with a simple yet powerful belief:

“If we’re in business, we’re in the people business.”

This philosophy has been the cornerstone of my approach to leadership and organizational development. It’s deeply rooted in my personal journey and emphasizes creating inclusive, supportive environments where every individual’s potential can flourish.

As a business strategist and certified positive behavioral coach, I help purpose-driven leaders build values-driven, people-first organizational systems. My methods — born from my background in education and refined through real-world challenges — focus on fostering authentic relationships, emotional intelligence, and collaborative problem-solving.

Expanding the Mission

Today, as the founder of JoyceVentures and co-founder of iQuoteHero (a Public Benefit Corporation), I’m driven by the same purpose that has guided me from the beginning — to help others overcome their barriers and reach their full potential.

iQuoteHero represents the culmination of my life’s work and beliefs. It’s not just a business; it’s a platform for generating social good and operating in a way that considers all stakeholders. It reflects my commitment to building systems that empower people and promote ethical, sustainable growth.

A Life of Purpose

Looking back, I see that every step of my path — from that little farm girl to the change leader I am today — has been about adapting, growing, and always putting people first.

As I continue this journey, I’m excited to connect with others who share this purpose-driven leadership vision and explore how we can create positive, lasting change together.

“If we’re in business, we’re in the people business.”
